Communism sounds ok on paper, but in real life, it never can work, mainly because of the human need for control and power. Will to power...

And I'd really hate to be told where to live, and what job I'll have. (Or is that just China, and not Communism in general?)

IRT Xel: Most communist regimes have tended to regulate everything from your home to the number of farts you're assigned to have a day.

You realise that Nietzsche was just some depressed bloke from ages ago? It's like what he says is true. If it was, then everyone would be walking around rubbing their hands and plotting evil schemes.

Marxism? Nice idea, doesn't work. Need middle ground. Thats the super basics.

LOL, that's how things are. The real world leaders act like this, and if you don't want to get screwed, you better start thinking of some cunning plan as well

Marxism is not a nice idea at all to me; the "social classes" fighting stupidly is 2 centuries outdated, and just thinking of everybody being "equal" makes me shudder. We're individuals, not ants. We are to be winners and losers, depending on how we do.

You clearly don't understand what this terrorism is about then. The west, rich, has everything, all the food it needs. The rest of the world, poor, has little food and problem after problem.

This is just like the social classes in Britain, America, Spain, etc, from years ago. While it's all good that they are gone in single countries, inequalities across the world are massive. WE are the upper class. THEY are the working/lower class.

If you remember in history, the working classes revolted, and destroyed the upper classes. If we keep using force to beat them down, society will be destroyed, like our past upper classes.

These working classes ain't rational, they are desperate. When their main thoughts are, 'where is some food and water' and 'damn it's hot', when they look to the west, they will think, 'why can't they help us'? They will find religion as a possible aid, learn extremist ideas, and start to fight against us.

Plus, with news of terrorist attacks so common these days, more and more of these extremists will see success in terrorism and start killing more.

the "social classes" fighting stupidly is 2 centuries outdated

This is far from true, it's right in your face, you saw it this weekend. The "class" wars are not dead, but are now at a bigger scale than ever.

Equality is world peace. Everyone needs everything. Otherwise, we have this world.

The west, rich, has everything, all the food it needs. The rest of the world, poor, has little food and problem after problem.

Hah, like that had anything to do with this. For starters, the muslim countries aren't the poorest of the world. The poorest countries are in Africa, and they don't come here to kill our people. Second, if they don't have civilization, it's their fault. Everybody had a chance to be grand, take over his neighbors when they were weak, and evolve. They didn't. Bad for them. It's not like we're stealing their food, in fact, the few money they have is thanks to us and how much do we value oil because of a few bastards who don't want to use better technologies that are already available. And they have equal opportunities when it comes to trade and world alliances; you can see ex-communist countries joining the NATO, or previously underdeveloped countries like China getting business and development all of a sudden because we realize they are capable. This is not a problem of "the rich" and "the poor", that's for fairy tales.

inequalities across the world are massive

There's indeed a big leap between the civilized world and the rest. But it's their choice. I'm well informed of the situation in some of the poorest countries of the world because I have information from insiders. Let's take, for example, Equatorial Guinea. I know somebody who goes there 15 days a year to work as a vehicle mechanic. He makes teh money there, and is grteeted by the country authorities like he were a nation president. The reason: there's only one person in that entire country that knows how to fix stuff well, and that's him. In his trips, he learnt their underdevelopment problem is not related to money. They have a beautiful natural resources (although you can't really see much of it because they never cared for tourism); the problem is the people themselves. They make like $100 a month. It's lame. You could be making that per day in Europe. But it's still some money there. But what do you think they do with their $100? Buy alcohol and get drunk until they run out of money. A couple days after they'll go back to work since they are dirt poor again. In fact, ministers of the country told him it's better they don't earn much, otherwise they'll die of too much alcohol. So, how do they survive? Well, they have such a wonderful country, there's food everywhere! You just stop your car randomly, walk 2 steps, and here you have the nicest apples you've ever seen. And boy, if they collected them and sold them here, we'd gladly buy them, but they never wanted that much work. Heh, if we had such resources here in Europe, we would be swimming in gold! People I know reported the same of Bolivia and several other countries. Another example: Uganda(sp?). ASS RICH country. Oil and diamonds. How come people is dirt poor? Well, the diamond guys sell them to us and use all the money to fight against the oil guys, who sell it to us and use all the money to fight back. WTF, they are retards; can't they see they're wasting their outstanding natural resources nobody else has on a moronic tribal war? And they're letting us get all their good stuff. That's not smart. That's as if Spain decided to sell their beaches to other countries. Some decades ago Germany tried to buy one of our isles. Told them it was a nice joke, but have a free cup of STFU. Now we're making teh money off it.

So I'm fairly certain if they are that poor it's their own problem, probably a matter of lack of maturity and/or intelligence. Also remember how European countries (like Spain) were so fucked up because of wars some 50-70 years ago, to the point the state had to assign everybody's food because there wasn't enough. In just the last 25-30 years, they went from being poor countries to the world's top-10. How did we make it from being a poor country to the 8th world power? Working hard, and being smart. That's all it takes. Every country could do it.

When their main thoughts are, 'where is some food and water' and 'damn it's hot', when they look to the west, they will think, 'why can't they help us'?

We're not giving our nice stuff for free. Why can't they help themselves? It's not like we use some sort of magical device to make money. They could make it as well.

This is far from true, it's right in your face, you saw it this weekend.

That's not a social class, that's terorrist scum. And even if they were so, if social classes disappeared in our countries and we didn't go through communism for it, why can't we expect the same to happen on a world-wide scope?

Equality is world peace. Everyone needs everything. Otherwise, we have this world.

It's not fair to give away nice stuff we worked hard for. In fact, if we're to talk about who has the most resources of the world, the underdeveloped countries should be sharing their stuff with our poor countries who don't have oil, don't have diamonds, don't have free food, and are usually cold as hell.

Equality is unfair. Everybody should have what he or she deserves based on his or her hard work, intelligence, and skill. What we should guarantee is equal opportunities, which is what makes things fair. This is how it works for us, and this is how it would work in the world.

It's they're fault they're poor? Because they are lazy and waste their money on alcohol?

Mundo Deja Vu here! If i remember rightly, that tended to be the same attitude of the upper classes in the past.

Anyway, i'm sure they buy the things they need, but there is little that they could want to buy. They must be living fine, they just don't own massive enterainment systems like we do.

Any country can make themselves rich again, like you said. However, you do get problems like lack of rain, lack of health care, lack of education. Problems like that can cripple countries.

Finally, i'm not saying, give the middle east everything we have, we should help them develop what we have.

Individuality may be good for the individual, but think what we could create all together. Equality could lead to some real incredible creations.

All your arrogant, selfishness may cause you problems. You say that rich, undeveloped countries should share their resources. Thats pushing our countries' responiblities onto someone else. Jeeze, no wonder the world is so fucked at the mo.

Of course. They had same or better opportunities than ourselves. They waste their resources on stupid tribal wars, which is much worse than alcohol. They do a lot of stupid things like sacrifying an animal they could use to some idiot spirits. Think about this: why did Europe colonize Africa? Why didn't Africa colonize us first? Why did Europe NOT colonize China though? Some knew how to develop, some others didn't.

We haven't had droughts since 1992. But even in that year, we made it to increase our GDP. Rich countries aren't too dependant on it. Our health service is free, and it's one of the most advanced in the world; in fact it's one of our strong points, and it's the reason why many people come here from other countries for special, experimental techniques we're pioneering. Education is free as well, including university careers, which doesn't happen in every country. It does suck, but as far as I can see, it's a generalized problem of countries, and ours isn't particularly bad at it, compared to our European neighbors. Spain's main problems are low R&D investment and low GDP per capita (and we're making large improvements in the second though). We also have internal politics problems related to regionalism.

Individuality may be good for the individual, but think what we could create all together. Equality could lead to some real incredible creations.

We're not worker bees. We're people with individual thinking. Sure, when the world had thousands of slaves (equal people, equal in slavery they were), they built pyramids and great Chinese walls. But now we know better than that. We respect the rights of individuals and everybody's right to think and to live true to oneself under our laws. And humanity's greatest creations and discoveries ever came in this individualist era. I doubt a million worker bees would ever be able to discover the secrets behind our DNA.

All your arrogant, selfishness may cause you problems.

I could be arrogant, but I'm honest as well (otherwise I wouldn't admit being arrogant). But this doesn't mean I'm not fair. I judge countries for their actions, and I'm respectful of those who have earnt my respect and admiration. I'm well aware of my and my country's areas that need improvement as well, and try my best to remedy them. Just think about this: why I respect, for example, Poland, and don't respect, for example, Morocco? At first they were just names to me. I learnt of them during my life, and developed respect for the first and not for the second. Why would this be? I sure didn't do this on purpose, because I didn't the name "Morocco" as much.

In any case, keep in mind that this is just country-wide politics. I honestly thing I'm not nearly this arrogant on a personal basis, most of the time.

You say that rich, undeveloped countries should share their resources.

I don't want this at all. I used it as an example to show you how absurd is to talk about giving stuff away.

Um, yes, I've read what I posted and it sounds like I really want this. I'd like to clarify, I do not. It's the right thing for them to take advantage of the stuff they have, and I'd never demand any country to give away stuff for the western countries, same as I don't want the western countries to give away stuff for the rest. We should instead trade each other's good stuff and develop together. Will the poor countries ever follow us and use the stuff we pay them with to develop like us, instead of doing stupid wars or wasting it?

Not everyone is like you though. You see, some people are arrogant, just because they think it makes them look tough or something, and yet they have some deep emotional problem like low self esteem. People working as a team can accomplish all kinds of things, just look at WW2, countries working as a whole, a team, to over come. Look at many businesses, people working as a team to profit and in most cases better the world. As a team, people have different tasks and yet they work and help reach a common goal. Take video game developers for example. If you get an arrogant music guy and he does the music without looking at the game but he sees himself as so good that he doesn't even need to know about the game, then you have a problem, the final outcome will have plenty of flaws. Now you can't stop individuallity from showing through, and you shouldn't try. You should just try to keep people in line and working for a greater improvement of society and such.

But yea, this has went quite off topic...
